Lymphatic Anatomy of the Pancreas
The pancreas is at the center of abdominal lymphatic drainage. There are many connections for drainage: liver, spleen, stomach, gallbladder and the duodenum. I’ve explored the systematic lymph node positions and their drainage in the pancreatic area.
Vascular Anatomy of the Pancreas
The pancreas has a complex vascularisation. In embryologic development, the head (ventral) and tail (dorsal) fuse. This creates the pancreas with the Santorini duct and Wirsung duct, yet these ducts do not always fuse. The pancreatic anatomy is not easily visualised in 2D, therefore, I’ve created an interactive overview of the most common vascular anatomy of the pancreas in Virtual Reality.
